Privacy Policy

Dishwasher Duty is a simple household chore-tracking app. We are committed to protecting your privacy.
This data is used to show whose turn it is, the last 30 days of activity and, if connected, dishwasher status, and to notify your household when someone empties the dishwasher or a cycle finishes. It is never used for advertising or analytics.
Household membership, turn records, dishwasher status and finished cycles are stored in the app’s shared (public) database in Apple’s iCloud (CloudKit) service. The app only shows a household’s data to its members.
If the head of household connects Home Connect, a server operated by the developer signs in to Home Connect on the household’s behalf and watches the dishwasher. It stores its Home Connect tokens encrypted, along with the household’s identifier, the dishwasher’s name and its latest status, and reads your household’s turn records from CloudKit to work out who is next. It does not store turn history. Phones never store Home Connect tokens.
We do not sell, share, or transfer your data to any third parties.
If your household connects Home Connect, our server communicates with Home Connect to authorize access and retrieve your appliance data, under Home Connect’s own terms and privacy policy.
Use Leave Household in Settings to delete your data. It deletes the turns you logged and your household membership. If you are head of household it also disconnects Home Connect, which deletes the server’s Home Connect sign-in.
Some household records stay after you leave because they belong to the household rather than to you: turns the head of household logged on your behalf, entries the head of household removed, the household record holding the invite code, and finished-cycle times.
Deleting the app or changing your device’s iCloud settings does not delete this data, because it is stored in the app’s shared database rather than your personal iCloud storage. Leave the household first. To have any remaining data deleted, contact us at the address below.
The head of household can also use Disconnect under Settings → Home Connect Dishwasher to delete the server’s Home Connect sign-in without leaving. You can revoke Dishwasher Duty’s access in the Home Connect app too.
